Welcome to Engraving World
Corporate Gifts and Labels
Engraving is ideal for medium to small quantities of differing labels. If there are good quantities of the same label (e.g. The name tag on a product) these would be done using a volume production system of which there are many but typically could be an epoxy adhesive.
Signs and Labels of every type
There is a vast range of signs
and labels available, and Engraving World attempts to provide a good
range of quality signage to a wide range of customers.
Signs are probably the oldest form of advertising and organization.
Initially simple graphics were used to indicate events or places,
and not much has really changed except that technology now allows
for the same things to be done bigger, better, and brighter.
As our name suggests, we started as an engraving company, but now we
offer all types of small signage, with emphasis on quality and
service.
Types of Labels and Signs
It is important to choose the right type of sign so that good value and service life is obtained. This introduction can only give a brief guide, our technical sales representatives will always be willing to provide advice and samples if required.
Typically used for
industrial and electrical labels, the traditional sandwich laminate
has been available for a long time and is one of these old
technologies that have time proven qualities that will not fade
(literally and figuratively).
This method utilizes a sandwich laminate with top background colour
which is cut away by engraving and exposes a second colour character
to form the label.
Two types of material are available, i.e. A phenelic resin based
board similar to that used on kitchen tops, and known usually as
TRAFFOLITE (a brand name like Hoover). This is extremely hard,
durable, and long lasting.
Plastic laminates have been
introduced as substitutes as they are much easier to work with, and
are adequate for many applications although Traffolite
still remains the premier material for industrial and demanding
applications; due to the aforementioned durability as well as its
non-toxicity, resistance to chemicals, and water and self extinguishing
properties.
Laser Produced Labels
This is a fairly new technology that is proving to be suitable when materials or volumes do not suit the traditional cutting engraving.
Metal Etching
This is a fairly old technique and only used for specialized applications such as stainless steel labels.
